For the ninth year running, the legendary Ultra Music Festival was held in Miami. Despite the heavy rain during the event, the powered Aero line array performed effortlessly on all four stages where the systems were installed as the PA system. The two-day Ultra 2007 was held at the Bicentennial Park in downtown Miami. The festival, which ran alongside the Miami Winter Music Conference, featured live acts including The Cure, Shiny Toy Guns, Miss Kittin, Brazilian Girls and Rabbit In The Moon + DJ’s Fat Boy Slim, Carl Cox and Kruder & Dorfmeisterl sabado, among others.
Three companies chose Aero systems for this event: Ralph Alvarez’s "Interface Sound Productions" installed sound systems in two of the four stages. A total of 16 Aero 38A powered line arrays and twelve sub-bass Aero 182 2K were used. He recalls: "The audio system was running non-stop for two days and under torrential rain, and the result was just fantastic". On another stage, "High Intensity Sound & Lighting", led by Eric Louis, used a total of 12 powered Aero 28A units for the PA system (six on each side), plus eight powered CA-215A bass units and four Compact 218A systems.
The Aero systems were also selected by Ulises Otero, from Roxy Productions: six Aero 28A units were flown on each side. Four CA-215 bass systems along with two Compact 218 Sub 2K units per side were used to provide a compelling bass. Powered low-profile SML-15A systems were used as stage monitors on all stages.
This is the biggest electronic music event in the US and one of the most important in the world. This year, the WMC and the Ultra Music Festival joined forces again for the third year in a row. They will continue to work together with the aim of promoting the electronic music industry worldwide.
