D.A.S. Audio is pleased to announce that Dorsett Productions Unlimited has taken delivery of a sizeable SR system consisting of the company’s Aero CA-28A and Aero 38A self-powered line array elements. The purchase was completed in December 2007.
With a history that spans greater than 20 years of service throughout the Southeastern United States, Dorsett Productions Unlimited is a full service provider of sound and lighting, staging, and video services for the live touring and corporate industrial markets. The company’s recent purchase includes 16 D.A.S. Audio Aero 38A and 8 Aero CA-28A line array elements.
According to Mike Dorsett, the company’s owner, "During our evaluations, we were very impressed with both the build quality and sound quality of the D.A.S. system. The fully captive rigging hardware is excellent–it stays with the cabinets all the time, so you don’t have to worry about pieces getting lost, and this greatly simplifies setup and tear-down. Equally important is the fact that this is a self-powered system. Since we don’t have to concern ourselves with separate power amps, setup is faster, easier, and the amount of cabling involved is reduced."
"We were very impressed with D.A.S. Audio’s offerings during last year’s Infocomm tradeshow in Anaheim, and after hearing the system at last fall’s LDI show, we knew this was the right equipment for our requirements. The system’s cost is highly competitive, and this too, was very important for us. There’s real value in the system, which for us, translates to greater return on investment."
Dorsett first used the new D.A.S. Audio system in Pensacola, FL with the Pensacola Children’s Chorus. The group’s annual Christmas on the Coast performance routinely attracts more than 4,000 spectators. "Everyone was extremely pleased with the sound quality," notes Dorsett, "so much, in fact, that we’ve already been contacted to handle the event this coming holiday season. Since that time, we’ve also used the equipment for a performance of comedian Katt Williams on New Year’s Eve at the Arie Crown Theater in Chicago and for a Fellowship of Christian Athletes dinner banquet here in Mobile. On each project, the equipment worked flawlessly."
For systems of this nature, knowing that the manufacturer stands solidly behind their products is an important purchase consideration. Again, Dorsett has clearly been impressed with D.A.S. Audio. "We were very impressed with D.A.S. Audio’s sales team throughout the entire evaluation process," said Dorsett. "They were very attentive and responsive to our questions, and were supportive throughout the entire sales process."
The company’s support after the sale has been equally impressive. "For our first show in Pensacola, D.A.S. sent two technicians to assist us and help make certain that everything worked properly. I’ve been very impressed with the level of support we’ve received. D.A.S. genuinely wanted to ensure we were happy with the system and that we clearly understood every aspect of the equipment’s operation. The level of support provided by D.A.S. Audio is rare in this day and age, and I’m confident it will pay off for the company. We’ve been very impressed with all our new equipment, and in the case of the Aero 28As, we’re already considering an additional purchase. The sound quality and small footprint of the 28A is perfect for a wide range of smaller venue projects. Considering that D.A.S. Audio has impressed us with both its products and its support services, why would I consider going elsewhere?"
