D.A.S. goes center court with Miami Heat
With their very own dynamic duo–consisting of Shaquille O’Neal and Dwyane Wade–the Miami Heat are one of the hottest and most visible teams in the NBA (National Basketball Association). The Heat won the 2005-2006 NBA finals and they continue to be a dominant team in every aspect of the game. The Heat Group, which operates the team, recently completed an audio upgrade for their premium seating areas at American Airlines Arena (the Miami Heat’s home court) , and for this, they chose eight CA-28A line array modules from D.A.S. Audio’s Aero catalog.  Read More...

Carnegie Museum of Art upgrades audio
One of the crown jewels of greater Pittsburgh, the Carnegie Museum of Art offers a distinguished collection of contemporary works that includes film and video, American art from the late nineteenth century, French Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings, and European and American decorative arts from the late seventeenth century.

At the entrance to the multilevel facility is a very impressive grand foyer. Measuring 150 x 60 x 55 (length, width, height), the foyer features marble pillars and floors, plus an ornate metal balcony and a parabolic ceiling–creating a stunning entrance. These materials create an equally stunning challenge for anyone tasked with upgrading the area’s sound reinforcement system.  Read More...

Jazz by the Boulevard Festival resonates with D.A.S.
"Depending upon who was performing at any given time," notes Horn, "the crowds ranged from two to three thousand spectators all the way up to about ten thousand. There were people everywhere and because of this, the ability of the sound system to throw far and wide was absolutely critical. For this reason, we deployed a line array system that consisted of sixteen D.A.S. Audio Aero CA-28A self-powered loudspeaker enclosures–flown eight per side. These were augmented by eight D.A.S. CA-215A self-powered subwoofers, which were positioned on stage, four per side, aligned directly underneath the flown CA-28A clusters."  Read More...

At Buffalo Bills Resort and Casino, the Star of the Desert Arena is where all the concert activity takes place, and recent events included performances by country artist Clay Walker and Mexican American comedian Paul Rodriguez. For these and other events, the sound reinforcement system of choice is a four cluster setup consisting of Aero CA-28A and Aero 48 line array elements from the D.A.S. Audio catalog.  Read More...

Orange Bowl with D.A.S.
This year’s Orange Bowl football game between the Virginia Tech Hokies and the Kansas Jayhawks was a spectacular event in and of itself, but the real action came during the much anticipated halftime show. Headlining this year’s event was "That Little Ol’ Band from Texas," ZZ Top. Playing to a capacity crowd of better than 75,000–not to mention a national TV audience–ZZ Top’s spirited performances were brought to life by the audio team at Interface Sound–using a collection of loudspeakers from the D.A.S. Audio catalog.  Read More...

Aero Sound in Florida
On July 2nd and 3rd, the company Advanced Audio Co, directed by Jose Nazario, installed a powered Aero 28A line array system at the biggest American Independence Day event, held at Cranes Roost Park in Altamonte Springs, Florida. This event (Red Hot & Boom), organized by the City of Altamonte Springs and the radio station XL106.7 FM in Orlando, required both complex logistics and set-up since the system needed to be installed on a floating floor at 150 feet from the audience. According to Jose Nazario, "D.A.S. systems once again proved their versatility for an event on such a scale, which this year attracted an audience of some 100,000 people."  Read More...
