The Near field reference monitor 6 is a 2-way passive full range studio monitor loudspeaker which incorporates a 6.5 inch cone low frequency transducer and a 0.75 inch aluminium dome high frequency transducer. The system’s low frequency driver is mounted as a direct radiator in a bass-reflex cabinet constructed of MDF wood, with solid Iroko side panels. The tuning port is located at the rear to minimize turbulence noise and two M6 mounting points are located on the bottom panel of the enclosure. The acoustically transparent cloth grille system is detachable. |

The 2-way passive full range studio monitor loudspeaker shall incorporate a 6.5 inch cone low frequency transducer and a 0.75 inch aluminium dome high frequency transducer. The dome shall be protected by a fine mesh metal grille. The low frequency voice coil shall be 1.5 inches in diameter. The high frequency voice coil shall be 0.75 inches in diameter.
The system specifications of a typical production unit shall be as follows: Average (RMS) power handling (based on a two hour test using an IEC band-limited 6 dB crest factor pink noise signal) shall be 100W. On-axis frequency range shall be of 44 Hz to 40 kHz. On-axis sensitivity (1W / 1m) shall be 85 dB SPL. Nominal coverage angles shall be 125 degrees horizontal and 105 degrees vertical. Nominal impedance shall be 8 ohms.
The system’s low frequency driver shall be mounted as direct radiator into a bass-reflex cabinet constructed of MDF wood, except for the side panels, which shall utilise stripped Iroko wood. The tuning port shall be located at the back to minimise turbulence noise. Two M6 mounting points shall be provided on the bottom panel of the enclosure. The system shall provide a detachable acoustically transparent cloth grille.
The system shall be a D.A.S. MONITOR-6.
