The frame of the low frequency speaker shall be manufactured of die-cast aluminium. The low frequency voice coil shall be 3 inches in diameter. The high frequency voice coil shall be 1.75 inches in diameter and the diaphragm shall be constructed of titanium. The magnet for the high frequencies shall be Neodymium.
The system specifications of a typical production unit shall be as follows: Average (RMS) power handling (based on a two hour test using an IEC band-limited 6 dB crest factor pink noise signal) shall be 350W. On-axis frequency range shall be of 50 Hz to 19 kHz. On-axis sensitivity (1W / 1m) shall be 100 dB SPL. Coverage angles shall be 90 degrees horizontal and 60 degrees vertical (average of 1/3rd octave bands from 500 to 8 kHz). Nominal impedance shall be 8 ohms.
The system’s low frequency driver shall be mounted as direct radiator into a bass-reflex cabinet constructed of polypropylene. The low frequency speaker shall be covered with a perforated steel grille, sealed against corrosion using a polyamide powder coat finish. Three bar handles shall be provided.
