The LX-215R is a dual 15 in. 6th order band-pass subwoofer designed for impressive low frequency performance. The high-order band-pass design provides excellent loudspeaker loading characteristics for an impressive combination of punch, transient response and low-frequency extension.
The LX-215R enclosure is constructed of 18 mm birch plywood finished with the durable Iso-Flex black paint. The rugged cabinet design employs extensive internal bracing eliminating sound coloration due to panel resonance. The LX-215R is equipped with a captive rigging system that is compatible with D.A.S. Aero line array systems and allows the subs to be rigged in a "one forward, one backward" arrangement facilitating cardioid configurations. Safe stacking is accomplished by way of plastic feet which inter-lock with fitting points on the upper surfaces of the cabinets preventing slippage. A screw-in pole mount located on the top panel provides flexibility when using full-range satellite systems.
The LX-215R employs the new 15LXN long excursion loudspeaker which incorporates a new 100 mm (4 in.) inside/outside voice coil design. This design offers significant advantages such as twice the dissipation surface and superior mechanical resistance which favour greater power handling and long term reliability. The lightweight neodymium magnet assembly maximizes the dynamic response for a deep, precise bass. The 15LXN is equipped with the unique Total Air Flow (TAF) cooling scheme which efficiently evacuates voice-coil heat.
